Terpenoids derived from a plant expect as seeds of anti-inflammatory drug or itself. To assess bioactivities of terpenoid form Pachyma hoele and propolis, flavonoid from Alpinia japonica and crude extract of propolis, we performed translatome analyses. Polysome-associated mRNAs were prepared from terpenoid or flavonoid-, crude extract of propolis- or hydrocortisone-treated and control cells from 12-O-tetradecanoyiphorbol 13-acetate-induced THP-1-derived macrophages cultured in the presence of Escherichia coli O-111 lipopolysaccharide. Coordinate regulation of a set of inflammation related mRNAs were observed, but also non-coding RNAs. Reciprocal regulation was observed by treatment of crude extract of propolis and by terpenoid from the propolis. Ribonucleoproteins (RNP)-driven process.Candidate mRNA binding proteins associated with inflammation-related mRNAs were immunohistochemically analyzed and mechanisms of anti-inflammatory effects of terpenoids and flavonoid were discussed.
