分子内にグルタミン酸を有する12残基の酸性両親媒性α－ペプチドを設計合成した。当該ペプチドをペプチド－ＤＮＡ複合体に添加し、細胞内に取り込ませることによって、リソソーム内の酸性化に伴い、酸性ペプチドが構造を変化させ膜破壊活性を発現することで速やかに細胞質内へとＤＮＡを送達させタンパク質の発現効率を高められることが明らかとなった。
