Summary

 In this study, I examined the semantic formula of "refusal discourse" in response to customer requests based on the discourse of Japan hotel staff in customer service situations. As a result, it was found that there was a common order of refusal behavior of "apology, excuse, alternative" from ten sets of refusal statements.
