758名の産後の女性に対し、産後5日、産後1か月にマタニティブルーズ、産後うつ（、ライフイベンツ を調査し、産後うつに関連するライフイベンツを調べた（偏相関係数）. 産後5日のブルーズを調整した結果、産後1か月のうつに関連するのは主として子育てや新生児の行動に対するネガティブな出来事、対人関係上のネガティブな出来事であり、身体的なストレスではないことが明らかになった.
