大学教員になる前に、永年ジャーナリストとしてテレビ局で番組制作に従事してきた筆者は、近年観光政策の専門家として、番組に出演して見解を述べたり、新聞・雑誌でコメントをしたりするなど、「取材される側」に180度立場を変えた。取材者と被取材者の両方の経験から、マスメディアは観光の有識者に何を求めているのかを考察する。
