日本では非結核性抗酸菌症の認識は低い。肺年齢測定に参加し同意した845人の被験者にアンケート調査を実施。NTM-PDの認知度は他の疾患よりも有意に低かった。被験者の10.3％は呼吸リハビリを経験し、18.6％は知っていた。年齢に関係なくNTM-PDの認知度は低い。肺年齢の測定など幅広い年齢層をターゲットにした教育活動が必要である。
