[Summary] We found that AITC exerts a protective effect on gastric mucosa in vivo due to an increase of GMBF. AITC stimulates TRPA1 channels directly, whereas AITC in the high concentration (30 ~ 300 mM) also stimulates capsaicin sensitive sensory neurons via H+ back-diffusion following epithelial barrier disruption.
