Influences of Psychological Task on Local Muscle Fatigue in Quadriceps Femoris

This study aimed to identify the influences of psychological task on Quadriceps Femoris fatigability. Fifteen male subjects performed two protocols; 20 minute rest (R) and 20 minute psychological task (PT), followed by the submaximal Quadriceps Femoris exercise at 70% of maximum voluntary isometric contraction. The results showed that 20 minute PT induced an adverse influence on local muscle fatigue compared to R as the result of increasing the cerebral excitation levels.
