Ryugakusei as a means to build university internationalization

Internationalization of Japanese universities is couched in terms of foreign language acquisition, increased inbound flows of foreign students and the promotion of university-locality collaboration. This paper describes how a department within a university has successfully employed near-native English speakers to achieve these three aims.
