進学の予備教育である別科の日本語教育は、従来将来必要とされる日本語学習に重点が置かれ、与えられる知識を学び使えるための教育が中心である。しかし、日本在住の学習者が、コミュニティーの人々とかかわり、お互いに影響を与え合う活動は、有益と考え、地域社会を授業に取り込み、自然なコミュニケーションの場を創造し、自主的な学びの可能性を実施した学びの場のデザインの試みの実践報告と今後のあり方を考察した。
