抗癌剤5-FUを含有したアルブミン小球体は癌化学療法を目的として熱変性コアセルベーション法により調製したDrug Delivery Systemである。小球体からの5-FUの放出は緩徐であり、持続的抗腫瘍効果が期待できた。Ehrlich腹水癌担癌マウスの延命効果は水溶液に比較して優れていた。
