抗癌剤5-FUを含有したアルブミン小球体をEhrlich腹水癌あるいは固形癌を有するマウスに単回および反復腫瘍内投与した。腹水癌の腹水量や腫瘍細胞数あるいは固形癌の腫瘍径に対して5-FU水溶液と比較して優れた抑制効果を示した。以上、アルブミン小球体は徐放性薬物担体として有用であることが明らかとなった。
