ナブメトン代謝物である（+）-4-（6-メトキシ-2-ナフチル）ブタン-2-オール（（+）-MNBO）の絶対配置は、1-フルオロインダン-1-カルボン酸（FICA）を使用して決定された。（+）-MNBOのジアステレオマーFICAエステルの1H-および19F-NMR分光法の結果により、（+）-MNBOの絶対配置が（S）であることを確認した。
