学長所管共同研究成果報告集所収論文。日本人という集合に関する集合の有する、集合の成員が共有するところの観念のうち、「自然」を対象とする観念について従来なされてきた研究の方法論について批判し、代替的アプローチとして、政策立案者の被支配者全体の生活条件に関わる政策の先行諸条件をなす倫理的原理を分析し批判を施す。なお、日本という地理的条件において歴史的に生じてきた対抗思想として日本仏教における「山川国土悉皆成仏」に包括される思想の諸前提となって来た倫理的原理についても分析・批判を施し対照を試みた。
