Summary

This paper presents survey data from an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) class using an online fantasy sports league as the primary course component. The writer begins by explaining about what fantasy sports are, and how they might be used in a language learning classroom. The research questions are then presented as a framework for the paper.
In the literature review, the writer examines the research areas that could connect to the use of fantasy sports. The writer then describes how the project was designed and carried out. Raw scores from data collected from a paper-based survey are used to analyze the level of question item agreement by the survey participants.
The results show varying degrees of agreement among question items. Possible reasons are discussed as to why students may have agreed or disagreed with items on the survey.
The writer concludes the paper by applying the analyzed results to the research questions stated at the beginning of the paper. Limitations and future considerations offer insight into further research possibilities.
