妊娠後期から産後1ヵ月までの縦断調査により、母親のボンディング、うつの問題が、次子の挙児希望と関連するかを調べた. 共分散構造分析の結果、初産婦においては、産後１ヵ月時の次子の挙児希望が、産後5日のPostnatal Bonding Questionnaire（PBQ）とEdinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale（EPDS）および、妊娠後期の現在の妊娠への気持ちと反応によって予測されることが明らかになった.
