産後5日の女性413名に対して、ボンディング障害、 パーソナリティ、入院中の看護ケアについて調査した. その結果、産後のボンディング障害は、妊娠への否定的な反応や、いくつかのパーソナリティ特性によって予測されることが明らかになった. さらに、パーソナリティ要因を調整した後でも、入院中に受けたケア満足度の低さは産後直後のボンディング障害に影響することが明らかになった（階層的重回帰分析）.
