データベースシステムにおいて2種類のチェックポイントを適用したノードについて、グループ化して処理をした場合の確率モデルを構築し、それを数学的に解析することによって、低価格で信頼性の低いノードを使用しても、適切なチェックポイントを実施すれば適切な信頼性を確保しつつ、安価なシステムが構築できることを示した。
