授業の到達目標及びテーマ
Effective communication skills are becoming essential for success academically, professionally, socially, and personally in our globalized world. The ability to compose and convey a message clearly and persuasively can be a key to success. This course focuses on developing the communication skills that will give students the confidence to take advantage of the wide range of opportunities they will have in their lives to communicate their experiences, knowledge, ideas, and opinions.
授業の概要
This course focuses on developing students’ ability and confidence to communicate their ideas and opinions in a clear and well-structured manner to a small audience. Throughout the semester, students will explore various ideas on everyday topics, as well as learn topic-based vocabulary, presentation language and sentence patterns, and ways of organizing ideas. As part of their assessment, students will be required to give presentations and submit reports on various topics.

試験及び成績評価
Students will be assessed on an ongoing basis based on the following criteria:
Oral Presentations (5 x 10%) 50%
Written Presentations (5 x 6%) 30%
Manaba / Textbook Work 10%
Final Report        10%

課題(試験やレポート等)に対するフィードバック
Feedback on student performance is given on a weekly basis right after the presentations, or on the next class meeting after the assignment due date. You can also talk to your teachers individually if you want more detailed feedback or are concerned about your work or class performance.
