授業の到達目標及びテーマ
In this course students will have the opportunity to reflect upon various basic issues regarding communication from a global perspective. Topics of discussion include:
1. stereotypes
2. discrimination
3. misunderstandings
4. communication styles: high and low context cultures
5. culture shock
6. language proficiency
授業の概要
Students will be encouraged to improve their discussion, presentation skills and communication skills in general. Active participation in class will be very important in developing their skills.
1. Students will be asking questions after presentations and in class.
2. Students will be having group discussions in every class.
3. Students will be giving presentations during the quarter.
4. Students will be evaluation their peers' presentations and making comments.
5. Students will be filling out an attendance sheet every class with what they learned and comments.
