授業の到達目標及びテーマ
The purpose of this course is to develop students’ ability to conduct academic studies and research on Gender and Women’s Studies in the English language. In this course, students will learn basic concepts and theories in the field, as well as discuss relevant issues in English. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with both the theoretical knowledge and the linguistic skills to engage in a wide variety of academic activities in the field.
本講義の目的は、英語で女性学・ジェンダースタディーズに関する研究活動を行う能力を養うことである。基本的な概念や理論を学ぶとともに、女性学・ジェンダースタディーズの関連する問題について英語で考察し、議論する。講義の終了時には、この分野における様々な学術的活動に従事するための理論的知識と言語的スキルの両方を身につけることができる。
授業の概要
The course is divided into three main parts. The first few class meetings will focus on developing students’ academic listening, reading, and speaking skills. Afterwards, students will read through an English-language textbook on Gender and Women’s Studies and discuss the concepts and issues raised in the text. Lastly, students will give a presentation in English about a topic of their choice, ideally their research interest, using the concepts and theories learned in class.
本講義は、主に3つの部分に分かれている。最初は、英語でのアカデミック・リスニング、リーディング、およびスピーキングのスキルアップに焦点を当てる。その後、女性学・ジェンダースタディーズに関する英語のテキストを読み、そのテキストの中に提起された概念や問題について考察し、議論する。最後に、各自が選択したトピック(理想的には自分の研究関心・テーマ)について、授業で学んだ概念や理論を用いながら、英語でプレゼンテーションを行う。
