This on demand course aims to improve students’ overall TOEIC scores. Students will be given regular practice in mock TOEIC tests to become familiar with commonly used grammar and vocabulary, and develop listening strategies that can be applied to the TOEIC test.

This class will be delivered On demand. This means that the content will be uploaded to Manaba every week, and the students will use the textbook and the online resources to complete weekly assignments and tests. There will be no real time lectures in the classroom online via Webex. Each week there will be two mini-tests and one vocabulary test. There will also be an exam the end of the quarter.

Review of course, self-assessment and reflection

As part of this course, students are expected to preview upcoming class content, as well as to review the content of the previous classes. In addition to this, teachers will assign preview and review activities as part of the regular homework assignments. Assessment of how fully students are previewing and reviewing the lesson content, as well as how successfully they have completed the preview and review activities assigned, is included in the assignment section of the assessment guidelines set out below. Students will engage in a minimum of 1 hour of both preview and review study for each lesson. Preview and review of course content is an essential aspect of language learning, therefore, in order to pass this course and achieve a good passing grade, please ensure that you do this to the best of your abilities.

Completion and Assignments: 50%
Weekly Mini-tests: 30% (6 x 5%)
End of quarter exam: 20%
