授業の到達目標及びテーマ
This course examines the relationship between second language acquisition theory and methods for language teaching. Building on the Foundations of English Language Teaching course, this program explores in more detail various teaching methods that exist within an Asian context, discusses the strengths and weaknesses of them, and explores modern approaches to language teaching in relation to second language acquisition theory. Students will then be expected to apply their studies towards their own teaching contexts.
授業の概要
Students are expected to read a chapter of the textbook prior to each lesson. Students are also expected to make notes of each chapter to develop their note-taking skills. Active participation and discussion on each chapter occurs during each lesson. Students also complete a Writing Assignment during the course that is related to their thesis, and they also complete a Final Writing report.
