授業の到達目標及びテーマ
This is a required course for second year students in the Department of International Exchange Studies. This course builds on the knowledge and skills gained from Basic Writing Skills. The students will receive a wide variety of stimulating topics on which to write and to develop their skills. These topics will help students to go beyond sentences and write coherent blocks of text to which they will bring their own ideas and creativity. The focus of the course is on writing paragraphs and the principles and processes that contribute to good paragraph writing. Students will create a portfolio of written work throughout the spring semester and submit the first half at the end of the quarter as a course requirement.
授業の概要
Students must pass the Basic Writing course in order to register for this course. In each class students will study an aspect of writing from the class textbook, then practice the skills learned through longer writings. In addition, the students will complete in-class writing assignments related to their textbook assignments. At the end of the course, students will submit a complete portfolio of their work.
