授業の到達目標及びテーマ
This is a continuation of Intermediate Writing Skills, and is a required course for second year students in the Department of International Exchange Studies. This course builds on the knowledge and skills gained from Basic Writing Skills. The students will receive a wide variety of stimulating topics on which to write and to develop their skills. These topics will help students to go beyond sentences and write coherent blocks of text to which they will bring their own ideas and creativity. The focus of the course is on writing paragraphs and the principles and processes that contribute to good paragraph writing. During the semester, students will further develop the portfolio of written work they started in the previous quarter. Students must submit a complete portfolio at the end of the quarter as a course requirement.
授業の概要
Students must pass Intermediate Writing Skills I in order to register for this class. In each class students will study an aspect of writing from the class textbook, then practice the skills learned through longer writings. In addition, the students will complete in-class writing assignments related to their textbook assignments. At the end of the course, students will submit a complete portfolio of their work.
