授業の到達目標及びテーマ

This course will introduce students to teaching techniques and methodology they will need when teaching English to children. Students will be required to practice communicative activities, and discuss their relevance and appropriateness to the methods we study in class.

授業の概要

Each week students will study teaching methodology, then see that applied in a variety of children’s games and activities. Students are required to record lesson plans based on the activities they practice in class. Students will be required to teach activities in groups, and perform teaching presentations.

Lesson 1: Course orientation. Introduction to teaching methodology, Getting to Know You activity and Scavenger Hunt activity.

試験及び成績評価

The Activity Log Book will be a journal of every teaching activity presented in the course. Students will be expected to explain how to teach and perform every activity in class and write it down in order to prepare for their Final Report Lesson Plan and Presentation of the Lesson Plan.

Students will be assessed on an ongoing basis during the semester according to the following criteria:

Activity Log Book (15%)
Final Teaching Presentation (15%)
Worksheets (40%)
Class Participation and Attendance (20%)
Final Report Lesson Plan (10%)
