Basic information
Changes of Energy Metabolism Induced by 1-Methyl-4-phenylpyridinium (MPP+)-related Compounds in Rat Pheochtomocytoma PC12 Cells We synthesized various 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium (MPP+) derivatives and examined their energy metabolism levels in cultured neurons. From this study, we clarified that the parkinsonism-related substances have not only mitochondrial inhibitory activity but also an effect to change energy metabolism. |
