Summary

The applicant has found that the activity of the detoxifying enzyme glyoxalase I decreases with conformational changes under nitric oxide-specific oxidative stress. In this study, we found and demonstrated that intracellular glutathione is essential for the activity-lowering action of glyoxalase I by nitric oxide.
