Tissue distribution and hepatic subcellular distribution of perfluorooctanoic acid at low dose are different from those at high dose in rats.

Dose-based differences in tissue distribution and hepatocyte distribution in perfluorooctanoic acid-fed rats were investigated. It was found to be distributed in the rat liver, particularly in the membrane fraction, and excreted in the bile, especially at low dose exposures.
