Summary

We investigated metabolic alterations induced by clofibric acid (CA), a peroxisome proliferator, in the synthesis of phospholipids, and their relationship with the biogenesis. CA markedly increased the formation of particular PE molecular species is related to increases in the mass of peroxisomal membranes in peroxisome proliferation in the liver.
