イソソルビドはメニエール病の治療薬として使われているが、その峻烈な味は患者の服薬コンプライアンスの低下を招いている。ヒト味覚官能試験とE-tongueにより、各種清涼飲料水によりマスキング効果の比較と両試験法の相関性を検討した。イソソルビドに対する味覚マスキングは十分とは言えないまでも、フルーツジュース、特にオレンジジュースが最も優れていた。
