授業の到達目標及びテーマ
This course aims to provide the students with a background in some of the teaching methods utilized when teaching young learners of English. It is a continuation of the Fall first quarter class, and covers areas not explored in that course.
授業の概要
The course starts by reviewing some of the key methods and points covered in Fall first quarter. Then it will examine various approaches to the teaching of reading and writing, and look at some of the differences between the methodology used for primary and secondary young learners of English. Teaching and classroom strategies in the UK will then by examined, and the students encouraged to discuss and analyse the differences between UK and Japan. Computer based learning methods, Bilingual students, and extra-curricular education will then be studied. Finally, the influence of globalisation / internationalism and a look to education methods in the future will be covered. Students will then prepare a presentation on one of the areas they have covered during this course.
